Membership

Join the Library

Membership of the library is free to residents and ratepayers of Hauraki District.

To join you will need to bring:

  • Proof of identity (eg. Driver's licence)
  • Proof of your address (eg. Bank statement, Rates Account etc.)
  • If you are under 18 we need a guarantor - an adult (usually a parent) who agrees to be responsible for the books you borrow. Your guarantor must be present to enrol you.

Don't live in Hauraki? Don't worry.

If you reside in any of our neighbouring districts - Waikato, Matamata-Piako, Western BOP, Thames-Coromandel or Franklin, you can also become a member of the Hauraki District Libraries for free.

We also offer special memberships for Schools, Businesses and other Organisations. Please enquire at the library.

Online Access

You can also access your library account online via either the computers in the library or your own PC at home. The 9 digit barcode on library card (leave off the 10th digit) is your account Log-in, all you need is a password. Next time you're in a library, come to the desk with your library card and we'll issue you a password.

Using your Log-in and password you can review the items you have on loan, renew items and reserve items that you would like to borrow in the future. You can also view your borrowing history and update your personal details. If you forget your password at any time, just come back to the counter, with your card or other ID and we can reset it.

Conditions of use

In accepting and signing your new library card, you agree to abide by the Policies of Hauraki District Libraries, including:

  • Return all items borrowed by the date due
  • Pay for overdue, damaged or lost item/s
  • Advise the library of any change of address
  • Acknowledge the same responsibility for any child you have registered
