Genealogy Support Sessions
We are happy to offer Genealogy Support sessions at our Waihī and Paeroa Libraries.
Volunteers from the Waihī Branch of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists are available to help anyone wanting to carry out family history research.
Paeroa sessions are on the last Saturday of the month, from 10 – 12 noon.
Waihī sessions take place on the second Wednesday of each month, from 10 – 12 noon.
This is a free, drop-in programme.
A computer will be reserved for these sessions to access our online resources. If you have a laptop or tablet you are welcome to bring that with you.
Ancestry Library Edition
Trace your family history across more than 1.5 billion names from over 4,000 collections (mainly US and UK census and BMD records).
Available from within the libraries using our public computers, or on your own device while connected to our free Wi-fi.
Papers Past
The Papers Past website is the National Library’s online archive of New Zealand newspapers, magazines, journals, diaries, letters and parliamentary papers. It lets you search through an ever-growing collection, spanning more than a hundred years of New Zealand history.
