From 1 July Hauraki District Council will be adding the free Antenno app to our communication channels to send out real time council notifications and alerts to people in the community with the app downloaded on their mobile phone.

It's going to be a game-changer when it comes to connecting our communities with council.

With Antenno, you add the locations you care about and then you'll receive council alerts and notifications just about those locations. You can also report issues to us directly through the app, including adding photos and a GIS map - now that's handy.

It's used by 35 councils around New Zealand, including our neighbours Matamata-Piako, Hamilton City, Western Bay of Plenty and Waikato District Councils.

What does this mean for library customers?

We can tell you about:

  • Changes to opening hours
  • Special events and programmes, e.g. school holiday programmes, book launches, etc.

You can tell us about anything library related that needs attention, like:

  • Found library books
  • Graffiti or damage to our libraries after hours

But you're more than just a library customer, you are a member of our community you can hear about and tell us about anything Council related in your community.

You can use Antenno to hear about:

  • Water main breaks causing low water pressure or no water in your street
  • Streetlight updates for faulty lights
  • Road closures on local roads, so you don't get caught up
  • Kerbside collection day reminders specific to your area
  • Reminders for when bills are due for dogs or rates
  • Fun events happening in your area
  • to name a few!

You can also report council related issues with ease

  • Graffiti or vandalism
  • Potholes
  • Water leaks or water taste issues
  • Roaming or nuisance dogs
  • Safety issues
  • Fallen trees on council reserves or roads
  • Stolen or broken street sign
  • The list is endless!
