Join the Library
Full Membership
Choose this option if you are 18 years of age or over and wish to access all our library resources.
Membership of the library is free to residents and ratepayers of Hauraki District. You can also join us for free if you belong to Thames Coromandel District Libraries, Matamata Piako Libraries and Western Bay of Plenty Libraries because of our reciprocal agreements with these neighbours.
Fill in our online registration form to get your temporary library membership number.
Choose either Ngātea, Paeroa or Waihī as the library you would like to join.
You will be given a temporary library membership number. This will allow you to borrow our e-books and online resources as much as you like for two weeks. It will then expire.
Before your temporary membership expires, you’ll need to visit your nearest library branch to pick up your new library card and check your details are correct.
You only need to bring two things:
- Photo ID (e.g. passport, driver’s licence, ID card)
- A document confirming your home address (eg. power bill or bank statement)
Junior Membership
A Junior Membership can be registered online but children and teens will need to have an adult with them to show photo ID when they come to the library to collect their card.
Digital Only Membership
Choose this option if you only wish to access eBooks, eAudiobooks and our electronic subscription databases.
Conditions of Use
By registering online and accepting and signing your new library card, you agree to abide by the Policies of Hauraki District Libraries, including:
- Returning all items by the date due
- Paying for overdue, damaged or lost item/s
- Advising the library of any change of personal details, especially physical address
